Town of Lac du Bonnet
Located 110km N.E. of Winnipeg on the west bank of the Winnipeg River, Lac du Bonnet (pop.1008) is a 4 Season destination at the entrance to the “cottage country “ of the North Eastman Region with the best boating, swimming and fishing venues.
In the summer, our downtown streets are lined with hanging baskets of red and white petunias and containers overflowing with assorted colourful flowers offering a family friendly atmosphere for shopping and dining in a variety of stores and restaurants catering to every need. In the winter, decorations with colourful lights and a giant Christmas tree replace the summer blooms.
Lac du Bonnet boasts six parks with three playgrounds, a fountain, flowerbeds, an assortment of shrubs and trees and a boat launch facility. An asphalt footpath connects with a forty meter wooden footbridge that spans a naturalized ravine in Leslie Park and continues along the bank of the Winnipeg River in Lakeside Park from where thousands of migrating Canada geese can be observed each spring and fall.
Downtown, the beach and the dock area is the site of the most spectacular fireworks display during our annual July 1st celebrations. The Aviation Cairn in the foreground commemorates our local history in aviation dating back to 1927.
